Our Progress

We will incrementally share our progress and some learnings to support improved understanding of the COVID-19 journey. This work is made possible by C19 Insider advocates and participants who have chosen to support our vision and share their stories. For this we are truly grateful.

What we're learning

Preliminary analysis of our dataset shows that:

  • The list of symptoms experienced by participants is much more than fever and cough. More than 14 different symptoms have been reported and some participants did not even experience a fever during the course of their illness.

  • A large percentage of participants still have residual health concerns even after recovering from COVID-19

There are many existing concerns amongst persons who were directly affected by COVID-19. Some never got access to testing and still don't have access to health care services. According to one survivor:

May 19, 2020 from retired registered nurse

The population I am most concerned about is the untested, symptomatic group. Because so many were denied access to testing when their symptoms began, we have NO idea of the true size of the “immune herd”.

Many of us have ongoing pathology, be it lung changes, nervous system anomalies, dermatological presentations, gi [gastroinstestinal] issues that need evaluation and follow up. Months later, we still don’t have access to our doctors and clinics because we aren’t “acutely” ill...nor will they make antibody COVID testing available to us!
